Ezekiel 22:30

" I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

We can see from the scripture above that the prayer of intercession is standing in the gap in prayer on behalf of another. God is looking for people of prayer. I learnt about intercession years ago by reading teaching called "A Quick Guide to Intercessory Prayer" by Kenneth E Hagin and also " Principles For Effective Intercession" by Joy Dawson. Not everyone is called to intercessory prayer. Intercession is the gift to pray God's perfect will for a person or situation. Intercession is done behind the scenes.

I was very inspired by Rees Howells, a powerful intercessor. " He was a man who found the secret to receiving answers to prayer and an intercessor who discovered the principles of intercession as the Holy Spirit made him live them. After years of powerful ministry, the Lord called Rees Howells to found a Bible College in Britain, to teach the principles of faith and intercession. In this college, he trained over one hundred intercessors and during the significant battles of World War 2, Rees led these intercessors through five prayer meetings a day, until their supplications had been answered and world events changed." From an article called " The Legacy of Prayer and Intercession."

A few months ago one of my relatives was found unconscious, she was taken to Intensive Care and needed to be ventilated. We were told they didn't know what had happened to her and they didn't know if she would wake up or she could have died. She was dangerously ill. Many people were praying and interceding for her and finally she did wake. She has since made a full recovery and we are believing she will be able to return to work.

A wonderful answer to prayer and all glory to our God.
