Hebrews 11 : 1

FAITH

"Now FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]."

Having completed the series on the fruit of the Spirit I have been thinking about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. So I thought I would start off with Faith.

In the bible in Matthew 17:20 Jesus tells us that if we have faith like a grain of mustard seed we can say to this mountain move and it will be done as nothing is impossible for God. All we have to do is believe. In Romans 12  it says we have all been given a measure of faith. So what does this mean in reality.

I think a wonderful example is a story which is a real account of what happened when Jesus was on the earth and lived among us. It's in Mark 2 and tells us that four men  brought their friend to Jesus as this man was paralyzed but they were unable to enter because of so many people. So they made a way through the roof and lowered their friend down. It says that Jesus saw their faith and he healed the man. I find this most interesting as their faith could be seen.

I recently read that "Faith comes from the unseen realm and is being manifest in the natural." Many years ago when I was young in the Lord there was a saying going round "God said it, I believe it, that settles it." We were told that Jesus not only died that terrible death on the cross for us to be forgiven but He did it so we would be healed of all our sickness as well. Isaiah 53:4-5.

So when I needed faith for healing I believed for it and it came about. You can read the story of my need for faith for healing in my book IN FULL FLIGHT Chapter 5 Page 30.

There's a lovely old hymn written by Paul Rader called "Only Believe" and it was released by Elvis Presley in 1971. Part of the lyrics are "Only believe all things are possible, if you'll only believe."
