PROVERBS 4:6-7

WISDOM

" Forsake not Wisdom, and she will keep, defend, and protect you; love her, and she will guard you. The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! And with all you have gotten, get understanding."

I have a friend who always filters everything via the Holy Spirit. She has often given me the best of advice. I, on the other hand, can rush in without  waiting on the Lord and of course have made many mistakes. A little while ago I met someone who I was romantically attracted to, this was a mistake. I asked the Lord about a relationship with this person. He said in that soft, sweet, small voice " he is not my best for you." That was an answer I did not want to hear.

Proverbs 3:13-18 tells us "happy is the man who finds wisdom" and "he who gets understanding, drawing it from God's word. Gaining this is better than silver and the profit of it better than fine gold." In this next text Wisdom is referred to as a woman. Verse 17 says " Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace." So we can see to obtain Wisdom is certainly a definite advantage.

In James 1 :5, scripture  tells us how to access this Godly Wisdom. " We need to ask the living God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him." But I think the next verse is the key; "Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering, hesitating or doubting."

Wisdom is another very precious gift from the Holy Spirit. In the bible it says " Wisdom is more precious than rubies: and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her."
